Muscle Joint Healing Balm
- Pentadesma butyracea (kpangnan butter) has a beautiful powdery silkiness. Some of kpangnan's healing effects are due to the high level of stigmasterol in it. Stigmasterol is a natural plant sterol with anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving properties. This rare butter has a lovely warming effect on the skin, and is extremely moisturizing. It rejuvenates and protects the skin, reduces the appearance of stretch marks, speeds the healing of minor burns, and protects from wind and sun damage to the skin.
- Mangifera indica (mango butter) relieves insect bites, promotes healthy rejuvenated skin, heals muscle fatigue, aches and tension. Relieves skin allergies such as poison ivy or poison oak and treats eczema and dermatitis.
- Pycnanthus angolensis (kombo butter) is a little-known butter from West Africa, with a deep chocolate color, with a deep earthy aroma. Kombo butter is rich in myristic and myristoleic acid, also found in products used to comfort joints and muscles. The high Myristoleic acid content is excellent for treating pain in the muscles, joints, arthritis and gout.
- Helichrysum italicum (Corsican and Italian) essential oil contain significant amounts of alpha-pinene, a powerful anti-microbial compound, and gamma-curcumene, an anti-inflammatory compound. These two compounds give our Italicums their wound healing and pain relieving properties, making it one the best essential oils for treating inflammation and pain.
- Helichrysum Gymnocephalum is an entirely different species of Helichrysum that grows in Madagascar. Unlike the Italicum varieties, which tend to be calming, Helichrysum Gymnocephalum essential oil is stimulating and energizing. Locally, its used for its aphrodisiac, stimulant, and antiseptic properties. It has a very high concentration of 1,8 cineole, also known as eucalyptol, making it a great remedy for bronchitis, clearing congestion, and healing the respiratory system. In addition, this oil is anti-inflammatory, it can reduce pain, and it helps relieve many kinds of infections.
- Copaifera officinalis (copaiba balsam) an excellent bactericidal and healing agent, indicated to treat wounds and skin problems. Recommended for infections of the dermis and mucous membranes, such as dermatitis, eczema, psoriasis and wounds. It eliminates bacteria and fungi, having an immense antibiotic potential.
- Cinnamomum camphora (camphor) is a common ingredient in pain relief medications, including topical analgesics. It may help treat muscle aches and pains, while stimulating circulation, by interacting with receptors on the sensory nerves. Camphor oil can also help reduce chronic muscle and joint pain over longer periods. With dual hot and cold action, camphor oil numbs and cools nerve endings, then warms the painful area as it increases circulation to stiff joints and muscles.
- Eucalyptus radiata absorbs into the deep layers of the skin to reduce inflammation with strains, sprains, torn tendons and ligaments, cuts and wounds.
- Gaultheria fragrantissima (wintergreen) an analgesic, astringent, carminative, diuretic, emmenagogue, stimulant, and tonic. The plant is used as a folk remedy against colic, headaches, body aches and pains, inflammations, rheumatism, sore throats, skin diseases, and tooth decay.
- Zingiber cassumunar (plai wild) high levels of sesquinterpenes (terpenen-4-ol and a-curcumene) delivers rapid onset and long duration of anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects, making it the most sort after message oil for sports injuries. Plai essential oil’s soothing and cooling properties relieve conditions of arthritis, rheumatism, and sports related tendinitis.
- Calophyllum inophyllum (tamanu) has the exceptional ability to heal damaged skin and regenerate skin cells, making it particularly helpful with burns, scars, and slow healing wounds. It promotes rapid healing of deep cuts and burns, has germicidal qualities to eliminate and prevent infection.

- Hypericum perforatum (St. John's Wort) has antibacterial, antioxidant, and antiviral properties. Because of its anti-inflammatory properties, it has been applied to the skin to help heal wounds and burns.

- Astrocaryum murumuru (murumuru butter) is rich in vitamin A and C and Omega fatty acids 3, 6, and 9. The main fatty acid found in this butter is called Lauric acid and is known for its anti-allergenic, anti bacterial, anti inflammatory and antiviral properties making this a good choice for acne prone skin, psoriasis, and eczema. It also has myristic acid, oleic, palmitic, linoleic acids, and antioxidants.
- Attalea speciosa (babassu) is a superior emollient for both dry and oily skin, and gently moisturizes the skin without contributing to an oily sheen. Softens skin and treats eczema and psoriasis, this versatile oil also protects the skin against environmental damage and promotes cellular healing.
- Camellia oleifera (camellia seed)l is also high in skin-rejuvenating vitamins, minerals, and compounds, including Vitamin E, Vitamin A, Magnesium, Zinc, and Squalene lipids. It improves the skin's complexion and addresses texture issues and scarring on the face and body, reducing the look of cellulite, stretch marks, wrinkles, and loose skin.

- Citrus aurantium var amara (Neroli), a very distinct, soft-sweet floral aroma with subtle nuances of orange and citrus makes this essential oil a key ingredient in the most expensive perfumes. Neroli essential oil's main component is neryl acetate which is highly praised for its skin care components. Neroli can help with stretch marks, broken capillaries, and is often blended in anti-aging skin care formulations. A wonderful feature of Neroli is that it can be used with any skin type because it is sebum balancing.
- Helichrysum italicumn contains a high level of neryl acetate, a compound originally discovered in neroli essential oil. Neryl acetate is one of the main skin-benefitting compounds in helichrysum italicum, and it’s responsible for the skin cell regeneration and anti-aging properties that helichrysum is famous for. In addition to neryl acetate, Helichrysum Italicum essential oils contain significant amounts of alpha-pinene, a powerful anti-microbial compound present in rosemary and pine essential oils, and gamma-curcumene, an anti-inflammatory.
